Pair of small cups (guinomi)
Who says "pairs" have to be the same? These cups feature two different glazes but a similar decorative pattern on rich chocolate brown clay. These small wheel thrown cups are great for tea or spirits. I like to think of them as part mid-century modern, part wabi-sabi. The term "guinomi" comes from Japan, meaning "one gulp." Traditionally guinomi were used for rice wine but today they serve a variety of purposes. These cups are approximately 2 3/4 inches cubed, and comfortably hold 5 oz.
