Wood-fired vase with celadon glaze and vine pattern
This is a great little vase in a classic form. In the first photo I have paired it with one of my "Velvet Queen" sunflowers. The effect is dramatic, but maybe makes the vase seem a little smaller than it is. This is a great form for displaying fresh cut flowers, or as a sculptural piece on it's own.
Wood-firing gave the clay a rich dark-brown color, and also created a bit of luster on the edges where the clay and glaze meet. This is really evident in the vine pattern. Hard to photograph, but really lovely in person.
