Wood-fired vase with Tenmoku glaze and loop pattern
A slender, rustic-elegant vase in an iron-rich Tenmoku glaze. I tell students to think of Tenmoku as the "chocolate" of glazes: it goes dark chocolate brown when thick and milk chocolate brown when thinner. Firing this piece in the wood kiln created even more variation in the color.
The elegant form and dark colors of this vase really makes flowers pop.
